I created Huntley & Habersham in 2014 as an online journal focused on the experiences of African American men.. The names “Huntley” and “Habersham” are both family names, as the men in my family have served as the primary source of inspiration for this work.
Our mission relies heavily on critical consciousness: understanding yourself and the world around you and finding a way to make them both better.
Here we welcome academics, researchers, artists and activists that are committed to learning, educating and growing. Our work has no political perspective or university affiliation. Our wide range of material includes art, music, film, cultural topics, literature, architecture, theater and dance.
